Tom's Story
When I was young, my buddy and I would try and walk on an old railroad track by our house. We would inevitably lose our balance and fall off the rails. One day we realized if we reached out and grabbed each other’s hand, we could walk the track together,
without falling off, and were able to go much further than we could by ourselves. Through the years I have come to understand that God has called me to do the same in my walk with Him. As I learn to hold on to God’s hand in my journey, He leads me
forward into His plans and purposes. In turn, He allows me to encourage and equip others in the Body of Christ to learn this same valuable lesson.
Isaiah 42:6 God tells us “I am the LORD; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations.”
Acts 1:8 “ … you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, AND to the end of the earth.”
Impact One has been born out of this calling: to take the Gospel first to one, then to the world!

Our Background
After 30 years of owning and leading others through my own business I felt God’s nudge to close up shop and work in full time ministry, helping lead others in a local mission organization that helped the least of these in two oversees countries. During this time, in one of my roles, I had the opportunity to develop, lead and provide oversite for the Pastor and Leader Training Program in these countries. After 11 years of serving with this organization, God began to expand my vision to take this training to other countries as He leads. Impact One was then launched in 2021, after many prayers, godly counsel and much affirmation. Over her adult life, my wife Sally, has worked in ministry both as a volunteer and as paid staff. We have had the privilege of leading short term mission teams together for many years where we both fell in love with God’s global heart. In her words she says, “When my husband, Tom, began to share what he felt was a specific calling on our lives, to take biblical leadership development to the next generation and to under resourced Pastors and Leaders in third world countries, I knew this was what God had for us.” Sally and I have been married for 41 years and have two hardworking adult sons, one beautiful daughter-in-law. two amazing grandsons, and one super loyal companion, our dog – Cooper the Corgi. We are energized and consider it a privilege to serve in this sustained passion God has given us! |
